An abundance of things

Good morning blog world! Today I've been thinking of the quote from The Hobbit where Bilbo says good morning, and Gandalf replies:

"What do you mean?" he said. "Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?".

My answer is the same as Bilbo's...All of them at once! I've been very distracted lately, and currently I am the queen of half done projects. Currently in progress:

  • That crochet baby boy vest I mentioned in a previous post (admittedly I forgot to pick up more of that color yarn from the craft store last time I went).

  • A crochet cupcake stitch baby blanket...well the first row of said blanket.

  • The makings of a baby blanket made of the most beautiful wool yarn. The problem is it's so dang scratchy that my fingers get really irritated when I try and crochet it, so the project is going very slowly. UPDATE: I might undo this, and try knitting it instead.

  • A slouch hat pattern I'm testing out before I make one for my cousin at the request of my grandmother. UPDATE: I'm happy to say I finished this one!

  • A knitted baby blanket that I've had to rip out several times due to gaps between the knit and purl stitches, but that's how we learn, right?

  • Aaaaaaaaand I'm practicing stitches with some crochet thread to try my hand at tatting, and lace making!

With that gigantic list out of the way lets move along to the things I have finished recently! I expanded a fancy afghan square called butterfly garden that can be found on Ravelry. It is very spring inspired (I finished it on Easter) in a lovely green color and a peachy orangey-pink color called persimmon. The blanket came out kind of square so I guess it would be considered a car-seat blanket.

That's all for now, but really quick before I go I was wondering if anyone knows if there way to make wool less scratchy. I googled it, but the results are massive. I might try the conditioner trick, but I'd love to hear feedback. Leave me a comment here or shoot me an email. Ta for now!
